High School Diploma Program

Giving high school students tools for success while continuing their education at home
The high school years play a vital role in the success of each student and what their future holds. While home education was not complicated during the elementary years, now that high school is on the horizon, parents are looking for options to optimize their child’s success in high school and beyond. CHESS has developed a program that is designed to assist parents in continuing with the vision they started with and to enable students to be accepted into the college or university of their choice without fear of rejection because of being home educated. This web page contains a description of two programs that CHESS offers to assist you in helping your student achieve their educational goals and dreams.

General Philosophy

The CHESS diploma programs provide a structured guide of basic requirements and achievable goals while allowing parents to individualize the scope and sequence of their student’s education. The goal of the diploma programs is to confirm the skills that your student has acquired. It is our desire to support you as you strive for excellence in your educational program.

The CHESS diploma programs provide your student with a private school transcript and verification of your student’s work.

Program Procedures

In order to ensure the successful completion of the Diploma Program requirements, CHESS requires that students are enrolled in one of the diploma programs for a minimum of four semesters (2 years). For students who are not entering the Diploma Program their freshman year, CHESS will review and transfer credits previously accumulated either at home or other educational institutions.

As part of the verification process, CHESS has developed a supplementary curriculum that is part of the core requirements for graduation. The requirements include three literature logs, four ethics (character) courses, and a non-denominational Bible course that consists of reading through the Bible. These supplementary courses are included in the tuition and are graded by qualified graders.
